Event Support Volunteers
We are delighted to present our programme of events taking place at Wolterton and Mannington throughout 2026. We have a variety of opportunities for volunteers to support the smooth running of these engaging and vibrant events. Volunteer duties may include stewarding, welcoming guests, assisting with car parking, and speaking with visitors at our stand about volunteering opportunities.
Volunteers supporting our evening events will, from time to time, have the opportunity enjoy the performance/experience.
- 10th May – Vintage Fair – Mannington (daytime)
- 17th May – The Gesualdo Six – Wolterton (evening)
- 24th May – Wild about Mannington – Mannington (daytime)
- 13th & 14th June – Wellness at Wolterton (daytime)

Storybook Sunday Storyteller – Mannington
Opportunity for engaging and confident volunteers to assist with Storybook Sundays, a 20-to-30-minute storytelling session to families of varying ages. Sessions take place at 12pm each Sunday during the open season.

Art Installation Stewardship – Wolterton
Plans are underway for the arrival of an art installation at Wolterton, which will be open for public view from late Spring to the end of October (details to be confirmed). If you are interested in art and meeting people, we would love to hear from you – this is a lovely opportunity to introduce art to visitors of all ages, within the wonderful historic setting of Wolterton hall.

Assistant Guide – Mannington
A fantastic opportunity for nature and wildlife enthusiasts; this interesting role takes place at dawn and dusk when wildlife is at its best. You will assist the lead guide with the visitors on a walk around the grounds of Mannington, pointing out things of interest and helping visitors to experience a safe and fun environment.

Education Heroes - Mannington
Mannington is a wonderful location for school children to explore nature up close and the experience benefits of learning in an outdoor setting. During 2026 we will also launch the revival of the much-loved Mannington Minnows children’s nature holiday club.
We are keen to offer volunteers with an educational background, the opportunity to be part of the team to deliver educational nature-based activities such as pond dipping, identifying species of trees and plants and learning about the wonderful wildlife inhabiting the area.

- High tier education volunteer roles will require DBS checks

Garden Tour Guide – Mannington
This opportunity to lead garden 45-minute garden tours at Mannington is perfect for garden lovers and those interested in heritage. Tours will take place during our open season March to October inclusive. You will need to be comfortable leading small groups and sharing planting/history stories and be on hand to answer visitor questions.

Amble Walk Leader - Mannington
This is a lovely opportunity for a nature and wildlife lover to be outdoors in beautiful surroundings. Mannington Ambles consist of leading small groups of visitors on 45-minute walks to the bird hide/boardwalk to observe wildlife up close.
