Families at Mannington
Mannington is an easy, welcoming place to visit with children. It’s somewhere a day unfolds naturally – from energetic play, to quiet discovery, to moments of shared pause.
Families often tell us it feels familiar very quickly, and that each visit deepens that sense of connection.
The estate itself is the playground. Easy paths, lakes, meadows and boardwalks invite children to explore, spot wildlife and invent their own games. Gentle walks and the bird hide offer quieter moments to slow down and notice what’s around you.
Play & move
Our newly designed natural play structure features a smaller, playful interpretation of the Hall itself, inviting children to climb, clamber and invent their own stories, while open lawns nearby make space for classic family games like croquet, giant Jenga and giant Connect Four.
Pause & listen
Every Sunday at 12pm, families can gather beneath the ancient trees for Storybook Sundays – a relaxed outdoor story time celebrating nature, wildlife and imagination.
Discover together
Minnows Nature Club offers hands-on sessions for young explorers, encouraging curiosity, confidence and connection with the natural world through seasonal activities.
Throughout the year, families can also enjoy special events designed to bring the estate to life in different ways – from Wild About Mannington, a celebration of nature, wildlife and hands-on discovery, to our Easter Quest, which invites children to explore the estate through playful challenges and seasonal clues.
Refuel & reset
The café provides a child-friendly selection alongside coffee and treats for grown-ups, making it easy to pause, refuel and continue your wander.
